BRUSH REMOVAL BY GERMAN TOWNSHIP

The German Township Maintenance Department provides, as a courtesy to all German Township Residents, removal of residential trimming of brush as time allows. This does not include the clearing of residential lots of trees, fence rows, complete removal of shrubs or for business use. There is NO brush/mulch/tree/limb drop off allowed at the Township facilities.

Township facilities are monitored by cameras. If you hire someone to cut down or trim trees the Township will not pick it up. We are a small department that cannot keep up with commercial companies.

Guidelines for brush pick up are as follows:

  • NO SHRUBS OR BUSHES

  • No branches larger than 4-inch diameter (our chipper does not allow for larger branches)

  • No cut logs, stumps, or root systems (i.e., firewood)

  • Place brush along road right-of-way (within ten feet of the road) NOT in the roadway.

  • Place cut edges toward the road in neat piles (this allows quick, safe clearing of the brush)

  • Piles should be of such a size that the crew can finish the pickup in a reasonable time (i.e., 20 minutes or less) or based on the Supervisor’s discretion.

  • No trash/metals/wire/concrete/or any solid waste materials shall be in any brush pile.

  • No pick-up of Christmas Trees or leaves

  • Please do not put debris, leaves or grass clippings into ditches or culverts as this will block the flow of water.

  • Call the (937) 964-1665 or (937) 964-1661 and leave your name, address and phone number for brush pickup.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Township Office, 937-964-1661, or the Maintenance Garage, 937-964-1665.
